101 — Introduction to Restorative and Transformative Justice Practices — 2 Days Prerequisite

Participants will develop the tools for implementing both restorative and transformative justice. Participants will learn the theory behind individual and community healing and repair from interpersonal and systemic harm through accountable processes — processes that center those who have been harmed, those who caused the harm, as well as the communities most impacted by that harm.

Participants will learn the Restorative Practice methods that support Restorative Justice Circles, Community Transformational Justice Conferencing, and Family Group Decision Making Conferencing that foster truth-telling, accountability, repair, and healing.

Participants will explore the foundational principles of trauma-informed care, examine how trauma shapes behavior and relationships, and develop concrete skills for creating environments where people feel safe, seen, and supported.
